Terms of use

GiftLoop (the “service”) is provided by Zizwe IT Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16803891) (“we”, “us”, “our”). It is a web app that helps groups such as workplaces, teams, friends and families organise gift exchanges like Secret Santa.

GiftLoop is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features in future, we will explain the price and any extra terms clearly before you are asked to pay, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

To use GiftLoop you must:

• be at least 16 years old;
• use an email address that you own or are authorised to use; and
• not have been previously removed from GiftLoop by us for breaking these terms.

If you use GiftLoop on behalf of an employer or other organisation, you confirm you have its permission to do so. These terms still apply to you personally.

You sign in with a one-time code or link sent to your email address. Keep access to your email account secure, because anyone who can read your email can sign in to GiftLoop as you. Do not share sign-in codes with anyone.

You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. If you think someone else has accessed it, tell us straight away at support@zizweit.uk.

Use a display name that fairly identifies you to the other people in your exchange. Do not impersonate anyone else.

• An organiser creates an exchange and shares an invite link or QR code. Anyone with the link can ask to join, so share it only with the people you intend to invite.
• On the draw date, or when the organiser chooses, GiftLoop randomly assigns each person someone to give a gift to, respecting any exclusions the organiser has set. A draw needs at least three people. Once names are drawn, nobody new can join.
• Until the reveal, nobody (including the organiser and including us in the normal running of the service) is shown who drew whom.
• At the reveal, everyone in the exchange can see who gave to whom and read the cards. If the organiser does not reveal, GiftLoop does so automatically the day after gift day.
• Exchanges and everything in them are deleted 90 days after gift day, so save anything you want to keep.

We work hard to keep the draw fair and secret, but GiftLoop is a tool to help your group. Arrangements between participants, such as how and where gifts are exchanged, are for your group to agree.

If you create an exchange, you agree to:

• invite only people who would reasonably expect to be invited;
• set a budget, dates and any exclusions honestly and fairly;
• follow any workplace policies that apply to gift exchanges, including on gift values, inclusivity and participation being voluntary;
• use the organiser tools (reminders, removing people, turning chat off) responsibly; and
• not try to find out who drew whom before the reveal, or help anyone else to.

Organisers can edit, re-issue the invite link for, or cancel an exchange. Cancelling deletes the exchange and everything in it permanently and tells the other participants.

Anonymous chat is there so givers can ask a question or share a hint without spoiling the surprise. Please be kind. When using GiftLoop you must not:

• harass, bully, threaten, intimidate or demean anyone;
• post anything unlawful, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit or otherwise offensive;
• use anonymity to make someone feel unsafe or uncomfortable;
• share someone else’s personal or confidential information without their permission;
• send spam, advertising or chain messages;
• try to uncover the draw, other people’s identities in chat, or data you are not meant to see;
• interfere with, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or access it by automated means except as we allow; or
• use GiftLoop for any purpose other than organising and taking part in gift exchanges.

Every chat message can be reported, and organisers can turn chat off for their exchange. We review reports and may remove content, restrict features or remove anyone who breaks these rules. If you see something that puts someone at risk, please also contact the appropriate authorities.

“Your content” means what you add to GiftLoop: your display name, quiz answers, wishlist, chat messages and cards. You keep ownership of it. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and process your content only as needed to run GiftLoop for you and your exchange, for as long as we keep it under our Privacy notice.

You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to share it. Remember that your card and who you gave to become visible to everyone in your exchange at the reveal.

GiftLoop does not sell, buy, deliver or handle gifts or money. Participants buy and exchange gifts themselves, and any purchase is a contract between you and the retailer you choose.

Budgets shown in an exchange are guidance set by the organiser. We are not responsible for gifts that are not given, are late, or that someone does not like, or for disagreements between participants about gifts.

GiftLoop suggests gift ideas based on your giftee’s quiz answers, wishlist and budget. Some ideas are generated automatically, including with the help of artificial intelligence. Ideas are suggestions only: we do not guarantee that a product exists, is in stock, costs what we estimate, or is suitable for the person receiving it. Please use your own judgement, particularly around allergies, dietary needs, age suitability and safety.

Gift ideas may include links to search UK retailers. Some are affiliate links, which means Zizwe IT may earn a small commission if you buy something after following one, at no extra cost to you. Where links may be affiliate links, we say so next to them. Affiliate arrangements never affect which person you are drawn, and we do not pass your personal details to retailers.

Retailers’ websites are not part of GiftLoop. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for their content, products, prices, delivery or customer service.

We aim to keep GiftLoop available and working well, especially in the run-up to gift days, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need to pause it for maintenance, security or reasons outside our control.

We are continually improving GiftLoop and may add, change or remove features. If we plan to stop providing GiftLoop altogether, we will give reasonable notice where we can.

You can stop using GiftLoop at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@zizweit.uk.

We may suspend or end your access, or remove your content, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we must do so to comply with the law, or to protect other people or the service. Where reasonable, we will tell you why. If you are removed from an exchange after the draw, GiftLoop re-links the gift chain so the exchange can continue.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

GiftLoop is provided for personal and social use. If you use it for business purposes, we will not be liable to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity, and our total liability to you will not exceed £100.

We are not responsible for the conduct or content of other participants, for gifts or purchases, or for retailers’ websites, as explained above.

The GiftLoop name, logo, design, software and content we create (excluding your content) belong to Zizwe IT Limited or our licensors. You may use GiftLoop for its intended purpose, but you may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from it without our written permission.

We may update these terms, for example to reflect new features or changes in the law. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If we make significant changes we will tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you continue to use GiftLoop after that, the updated terms will apply. If you do not agree with them, you can stop using GiftLoop and ask us to delete your account.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If a dispute arises, please contact us first and we will try to resolve it informally. You may bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will continue to apply. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. These terms are between you and us; nobody else has rights under them.
